The third meeting of chess world-class masters took place in the Knights’ Hall at the BW hotel Kampa between 15.7.2005 and 17.7.2005. Following a successful match of the generations involving the former world vice-champion Viktor Kortchnoi and an excellent game with Alexej Širov, David Navara, the Czech number one faced a true chess legend - Anatolij Karpov. Václav Klaus, the president of the Czech Republic was among the valued guests of this chess festival and opened the game with the first move. The game in which Anatolij Karpov played white ended in a draw on the 48th move. David Navara thus achieved a valuable draw 1 - 1 in a game with the former world champion.
